2025 in Review
2025 encapsulates one of the most trying, yet simultaneously rewarding, years I’ve ever had. I have so many feelings about what transpired, yet I’ve been struggling to find a way to fully articulate its significance.
On the final day of the year, I compiled an Instagram post, piecing together snippets of special moments captured but it truly didn’t do 2025 justice. When I saw another small business owner share a blog post, I felt inspired to sit down and write my own recap.
So here goes my very first annual review, bl
og-style.
Going into the year…
If we met within the last year, you may not know that 2025 was actually my first full year as a full-time Realtor. I made the decision to go full-time in April of 2024, officially stepping away from a career in the technology industry. I won’t attempt to fully recap the transition from a senior leadership role overseeing a global team at a publicly traded technology company to becoming a real estate agent, but I can sum it up simply: it was overwhelmingly humbling.
2025 Goals
By January of 2025, I found myself in a state of uncertainty but determined to keep going. I entered the year with a short list of goals:
Help two clients per month
Build my confidence as a Realtor (a new identity, really)
Continue to feel happier in my day-to-day than I did in my previous career
Put travel, something I deeply value, on pause to focus on building my business
Replace at least 70% of my former income (a proof of concept for myself)
How 2025 Unfolded
The first few months started quietly, but I dove headfirst into meeting people and sharing what I believe is incredibly valuable about investing in real estate. As an investor myself, buying houses had already changed my life, most notably by giving me the financial stability to leave a secure job and go into business for myself. Talking about this came naturally within my network, and the experience I gained in my previous roles laid the foundation for how I approached the work. As traction picked up, I’m grateful to reflect that throughout the year I worked with;
23 individuals or families on 28 total transactions (averaging about 2 clients per month)
4 of which were first-time homebuyers finding their first properties
5 of which were move-up buyers upgrading into a new space
1 who was a local investor that purchased 2 new properties
1 who was an out-of-state investor
Every one of these opportunities reaffirmed how much I love this work. I’m deeply grateful to be a part of such a big decision for individuals or their families, to get to know people so personally during these chapters and to help make the process a little smoother, less stressful, or even more enjoyable during an experience that can feel nerve wracking. It is genuinely an honor.
Additionally, during this year I was able to:
Host 12 community events
Get to know other professionals in the industry including some awesome lenders, title reps, and more.
Explore new activities throughout the metro area to highlight why it’s such a great place to live
Fully replace my former income through a level of production that exceeded my original goals
As for my other goals:
The accomplishments above absolutely helped build my confidence. I, of course, still have a burning desire to grow and learn, but in this moment, I do feel competent and very sure of my ability to successfully guide a client through a real estate transaction.
I found that I was more excited about life this year than I could remember being in the last few years of my former career, even when the work felt difficult or stressful. Being a Realtor feels like the intersection of my desire to help people, my analytical mindset, my love of number and negotiation, and a deep pull toward helping others build wealth, far more than I ever anticipated. That feels pretty cool. 😊
On travel, I did still travel domestically to San Diego, Georgia, Northern CA, Florida and get to enjoy beautiful Colorado cities like Leadville, Breckenridge, Alma, and Silverthorne. It felt like a very toned-down travel year but it was very intentional, allowing me to stay accessible for my clients and focused on building my business.
Goals for 2026
With a stronger foundation to build upon, I’m really looking forward to seeing what 2026 brings. I’m hoping to:
Help more people! I’d love to support an average of three clients per month
Upgrade my materials. This includes having more cohesive buyers/sellers guides, a regular newsletter, and marketing for my events
Bring my love of financial education into my work
Share more client stories. It’s so helpful to see others achieving a goal that you also have and I think it’s really true with buying or selling a home. I hope to shed more light on this and also feel more comfortable to ask my clients if I can highlight them
Be consistent on social media
Host 1 event per quarter that has a social impact goal (like a fundraiser or donation drive)
Make time to travel, as it brings me joy and creative energy
Buy our next investment property
Thanks for being here and stay tuned for this end-of-year recap next January!
